Padhuga Pooja Mahotsavam at Dharmakshetra, Mumbai from 10.12.2009 to 13.12.2009

Four days of worship and adoration to Bhagawan Baba and the sanctified Padhugas gave a new dimension to the Padhuga Pooja function being conducted at Dharmakshetra, Mumbai. Poojas, rituals, homams, Prasthishta of Idols were conducted very meticulously during all the four days starting from 10th December to 13th December 2009.

The grand old devotee, late Sri P.S.A.Subramania Chettiar from Madurai, Founder, President of Sri Sai Padhuga Trust, pioneered the Padhuga Pooja rituals in Prashanthi Nilayam. There were only about 108 Padhugas on that day for the worship,but d the number of Padhugas is growing year by year. Sri Srinivasan Chettiar, the illustrious son of late Subramania Chettiar, conceded that it was nothing but the sheer Grace of Beloved Bhagavan Sri Sri Sri Sai Baba Vaaru, who inspires, guides and makes it possible for this grand event to happen year after year.

Last two years, the Padhuga Pooja were conducted at Thane (near Mumbai), and Surat (in Gujarat). There were prayers even from overseas venues, such as Mauritius, Johannesburg, Malaysia, and Singapore. These venues were suggested by the President of Sri Padhuga Trust, based on the prayers of devotees from those cities.

But even without asking for it, Swami Himself, in all His Divine Compassion, commanded Sri Chettiar, to conduct this year’s Padhuga Pooja in Dharmakshethra, Mumbai. Having given the directions, Swami Himself visited Dharmakshetra after a gap of almost 8 long years and sanctified the place,

On receiving the Divine command, Sri Chettiar earnestly plunged into activities to initiate appropriate arrangements, to celebrate the function in a grand manner at Dharmakshetra, Mumbai.
Every year a New Padhuga is designed based on various concepts. This year the concept being ‘Ashta Dhik Palakas Padhugas”. Recently Bhagawan, blessed this Padhuga.
Sri Sinivasan Chettiar has a team of dedicated sadhaks who assist him in making the event grand and holy. There were cultural programmes too in the evening on all the days at Dharmakshetra. Thousands of devotees from all over Mumbai thronged on all the four days at the Jalan Mandap where the rituals were conducted.
At the culmination of the final day of the Padhuga Pooja, Sri Indulal Shah, Sri Ramesh Sawant, Dr. Keki Mistry, Sri Vijay Bhasker ,Sri Nimish Pandya and Sri Bombay Srinivasan were gifted a memento each by Sri Srinavasan Chettiar.
Sri Nimish Pandya gave a short speech thanking Sri Sinivasan Chettiar and his team and also hoped that they would perform this pooja more often ,in the times to come.
